Sinor Engine Company now offers a newly designed upgrade to the spring-loaded oil pump drive assembly on all 6 and 8 cylinder Superior engines. The existing design uses springs between the drive gear and hub to dampen the direct drive of the oil pump. The inherent problem with this design is that the springs will often wear into the gear and hub and eventually break, damaging the entire assembly as well as allowing small metal fragments into the oil pan. Our new Oil Pump Drive Upgrade Kit, (P/N S-8533) utilizes Viton cord strips in place of the springs which not only provides equal or better dampening for the assembly but also longer life and less wear and tear on the gear and hub.
