The time is coming when all engines must meet strict emissions requirements. Sinor Engines offers CleanBurnŽ conversion kits for GT and GTL SuperiorŽ engines. These kits provide SuperiorŽ engines the ability to achieve 2 grams of NOx per horsepower hour at full load and 900 RPM at a much lower cost than purchasing a new CleanBurnŽ engine. If time does not permit a full conversion of your engine, Sinor Engine can supply a comparable exchange unit.
Why?
Emissions requirements for almost all types of engines have been tightened by the Clean Air Act. Older engines as well as new engines must meet these requirements. CleanBurnŽ technology from Cooper Energy Services allows these engines to operate with less emissions. The same technology can be applied to the older 8GT and 6GT engines.
How?
CleanBurn technology uses a lean air/fuel ratio that acts as a cooling effect and thus reduces NOx formation. To set off the lean mixture, a pre-chamber ignites a rich pre-charge in the pre-combustion chamber and sets off the lean cylinder mixture. The process is ignited with a conventional spark plug. To achieve the increased air flow necessary for the lean air/fuel mixture, the turbocharger must be modified. The major modifications for a conversion from GTL** to GTLE include:
- Cylinder head replacement with new pre-combustion chambers
- New pilot gas supply system
- New, higher output ignition system
- Electronic air/fuel ratio control system
- Electronic timing control
- Turbocharger overhaul and modification
